Moosechoke Department of Public Relations and Events

The big plan here at Moosechoke is to eventually publish a comic book featuring stories and art by me, Lou Copeland. There are currently a few items in the comics and illustration links. At this point the comics section contains only early work of mine that I consider pretty crude. At least a few pages of new material, some of which is already completed, will be posted soon. Thanks for your interest, and we here at the M.D.P.R.E. hope you check back later in the year! Bring some chips or something next time 'round, though. Jeez!

The Author

Lou Copeland is a cartoonist and "retired" filmmaker living in St. Petersburg, Florida, the snowboarding capital of the world!

Recently I've worked on restoring and coloring several stories for the collection of Bernard Krigstein comics published by Fantagraphics books. Editor Greg Sadowski posted a preview on his site dedicated to the great Mr. Krigstein, and you can check out part of one of the stories I worked on by clicking here.

For anyone interested in seeing a before and after sample of some of my digital restoration work, including a panel from the Krigstein book, check it out here.

I've also recently participated in a round of reviews for John Holmstrom's Punk Magazine. Check 'em out here and here. It was a hoot!

Comics

Moosechoke comics are just comics plain and simple. They have no affiliations or sympathies with any radical political organizations or individuals past or present. Any "Secret Messages" found reflect the predisposition of the individual reader.

FAQ

Nobody gives a poo about an unknown cartoonist, so here are a few actual FAQ's actually borrowed from other actual sites, actually:

Do I need to copyright my FAQ?

If you invest a lot of time on your FAQ, and most FAQ maintainers do, you might be concerned about protecting your work. Under the Berne Convention (to which the vast majority of "Western" nations are signatories), as soon as something is published, then the writer/producer of the item is held to own the copyright. You can add (C) copyright 1997 if you want, but it is no longer necessary (sort of like chicken soup, doesn't necessarily help, but it couldn't hurt).

How long do Breast Implants last?

Many people are under the impression that breast implant patients should have a proverbial "tire change" every ten years. This is not true. Given my present experience with third generation implants I believe the failure rate will not prove to be high, but only time will tell. The good news is that changing a saline implant that has deflated can usually be done under local anesthesia and the major implant companies pay for both the new implant and the procedure.

Can I become a Sith Lord?

No. Although you may be able to become Dark Jedi, you will not be able to become a Sith Lord. The films explicitly state that there are only two Sith Lords, and the two have been clearly identified as the Emperor and Darth Vader.

Do you know of any safe product to use to dye dogs' hair? I have a white standard poodle and dyed her at Easter last year- used Kool Aid and water, but it was not very bright.

When coloring my own poodle I used ground up sidewalk chalk and hair spray.
